A Study on the subjective Fatigue Symptoms of Student Nurses due to Clinical Practice


Abstract
For the purpose of evaluating Subjective Fatigue Symptoms of student nurses due to clinical practice, this survey was conducted during the period of April 1 through May 19, 1988. All )f the answerers are student nurses of 2 Baccalaureate course: and 2 Diploma course located in Kwang ju City. The subjective fatigue symptoms were divided into three categories of physical, mental and neurosensory symptoms.
The result of this survey were as follows:
1. The frequency of complaining subjective fatigue symptoms was 18.0 % and 44.1 % in physical, 15.9 % and 21.1 % in mental, and 26.8 % in neurosensory symptoms category according to before and after clinical practice respectively. So, the author found out that there¢¥s a significant difference in the frequency of feeling fatigue between before and after clinical practice (P < . 01) .
2. The author also examined about some influencing factors that may affect the score of subjective fatigue symptoms frequency. Among them, the items those were statistically significant in the group of after practice , and relating explanations were:
1) The subject group of Baccalaaureate course students complained more fatigue than of Diploma course students.
2) According to the practice hours, the group of night duty recorded the highest fatigue score.
3) According to the practice place, the group of nursing administrative practice recorded the highest fatigue score.
4) The group of `having much troubles¢¥ complained more fatigue than of `having little troubles.
